This Jets rookie defender continues to make play Dan Leberfeld

While the Jets’ offense led by Zach Wilson was battling the Eagles’ defense on one field, their defense was facing off against Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ offense on a second.

With most of the focus on Wilson, and understandably so, some noteworthy plays were made by the Jets’ defense.

One of note was Jets rookie cornerback Brandon Echols covering WR DeVonta Smith, down the deep left side, and knocking away the pass at the last second.

Echols, a 2021 sixth-round pick of the Jets out of Kentucky, showed his 4.34 speed on this play, staying in the hip pocket of the speedy former Alabama star.

Echols has been a pleasant surprise for the Jets in camp.
