An NFL minority owner rips the Jets . . .

Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady was critical of the Jets in his most recent blog post.

The headline of the post was, “How to build an NFL team.”

“The Jets’ issues were more about the Jets, not the Patriots,” wrote Brady. “They had God knows how many pebbles in their shoes that they’ve struggled to shake out for a long time. It has hobbled them, set them back, and sent them off course.”

This is something you rarely see in the NFL: Somebody in an ownership group from one team critiquing the operation of another team.

You have to wonder how the Jets and the commissioner feel about this.

Very unusual.

Brady owns 5 percent of the Raiders, 10 percent overall with his business partner.

Brady also wrote in his blog:

“I’m sure they’re trying to build a winning culture like everyone else. You can want to win, but if your priorities and decisions are off, it will be represented in the win and loss column at the end of the year.”

What does Brady think of the culture over the last two decades of the team he’s now a minority owner of?

It’s not like the Raiders have been a picture postcard of a strong NFL culture in recent years. It should improve now with Pete Carroll running things, but there has certainly been myriad dysfunction with the Raiders in recent years.

Unusual blog post to come from somebody who owns part of an NFL team.

But then again, we live in unusual times.
