Bios on Dowtin and Fletcher Craig Thomas

The New York Jets have signed LB Marcus Dowtin to the active roster and signed CB Donnie Fletcher to the practice squad.

Dowtin (LB/6-2/226/North Alabama/Upper Marlboro, MD) originally signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent (04/30/12). He spent the preseason with New York before being waived (08/31/12) and subsequently signed to the practice squad (09/01/12). In his senior season at North Alabama, Dowtin led the team with 115 tackles, including nine for a loss, four sacks and four forced fumbles.

Fletcher (CB/6-1/195/Boston College/Cleveland, OH) entered the NFL after signing with the Jets as an undrafted free agent (05/04/12). He joined the Jets practice squad (09/01/12) after being waived following training camp (08/31/12). New York signed Fletcher to the active roster from the practice squad (09/22/12) for their game at Miami (09/23/12), before waiving (09/24/12) him. He re-signed to the Jets practice squad (09/25/12) before being released (10/02/12).
