Cortland – Rex seems on board with competition Dan Leberfeld

Cortland – Rex Ryan seems to be buying into the importance of keeping the best players on the roster.

The past few years, that didn’t always seem to be the case. It often seemed like politics often took precedent over fair competitions.

But John Idzik is a true believer in the competition mantra, and Ryan seems to finally be all in.

“I’ll be about competition – think that’s the big thing about here,” Ryan said. “Every single player is going to have to earn their job. Now is D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold or David Harris pretty secure? Or (Antonio) Cromartie? Yeah, I’d say so. But that really is it. People are going to get a fair shot here and I think every single player is going to have to earn their way.”

And that is the way it should be.
