Cortland – Why didn’t the Jets sign Braylon Edwards earlier so he could work with the team in the off-season?

“We looked at Braylon as plug and play – we did keep in touch with him.,” John Idzik said. “He kept in great shape. We didn’t have any concerns that way – we felt he would be available for us.”

Idzik said the Jets have a lot of young receivers on the roster, and they wanted to take a long, hard look at them during the off-season, and that was a factor in waiting on signing Edwards.
