Florham Park – Sam Darnold will be the Jets’ starting quarterback. The announcement was made last week by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
What do I think?
Hard to say, since I’ve never seen Darnold play a regular season NFL game. We will all find out what he can do starting in Detroit.
I know starting him will help Jets’ ticket sales, but let’s see how he does with the real bullets flying in real games. He has tremendous potential.
But regardless of who the starter is, the Jets need to be a playoff contender this year.
They have missed the playoffs seven years in a row, and are coming off back-to-back 5-11 seasons. That’s inexcusable in a league built for parity and competitive balance.
