I really don’t care who the Jets start at QB this year.
I have no skin in the game.
All I know is after back-to-back 5-11 seasons, and seven years out of the playoffs, they need to win this year, and make a playoff run. The GM and coach need to win this year after lording off two substandard seasons in a row.
So whoever gives them the best chance to win in 2018 should start at quarterback.
In other words, I’m not going to lower the bar in my coverage of the team if they start a rookie.
If the rookie gives them the best chance to win, start him. No doubt about it.
But I’m going to cover the Jets based on wins and losses.
I refuse to lower the bar based on a rookie starting (if he’s not ready). That isn’t Little League.
As Al Davis once said, “Just win baby.”
