Ellis had a good conditioning off-season

Jets’ nose tackle Kenrick Ellis was in poor shape during his rookie year. The lockout hurt definitely hurt his conditioning.

But it sounds like he got himself in great shape this off-season.

“He put so much into the off-season,” Rex Ryan said. “Here’s a guy that couldn’t do a pull-up, now he’s doing sets of pull-ups with an extra 35 pounds tied on him. He does sets of 10. This is a big man. That’s impressive. This guy’s really changed his body.”

Ellis reported to jail when the off-season program ended. He will be in there until training camp. The Jets hope he doesn’t lose his conditioning behind bars.
