With the lockout, and no game reps this summer, you have to wonder about the readiness of Fireman Ed for the Jets home opener against Dallas.

Q)Rex, are you concerned that Fireman Ed wasn’t at the preseason games?
Ryan: That concerned me a little bit (laughing).
Q)Do you think Fireman Ed will be ready for the season opener?
Ryan: I think he’s probably pacing himself a little bit, you know? Maybe not getting too high in that preseason. I certainly hope he’s there for regular season. But you’re right, I haven’t seen him. (smiling).
Q)Did Fireman Ed need reps in the preseason?
Ryan: No, I think he’ll be all right (laughing).
