There are many NFL teams that need a QB right now – the Jets, Giants, Cleveland, Tennessee, and Las Vegas, to name a few.
But when you look at the 2025 free agent and draft classes at the position, there seems to be more demand than supply.
The 2025 quarterback draft class doesn’t look like a bumper crop.
“This is the worst class in NFL history,” said coach Jason Brown (of ‘Last Chance U’ fame) on his podcast.
“It’s not the worst, but it’s not a good one,” said former NFL QB Shaun King in response to Brown on the podcast.
And in the free-agent class, after Aaron Rodgers, who’s available? It looks like a bunch of pedestrian journeymen, led by Minnesota’s Sam Darnold, who has a 35-38 lifetime record and who finished last season with two bad losses, one for the division crown and then in the playoffs.
Look, maybe some of the quarterbacks from this year’s draft and free-agent classes will surprise and do great.
But on paper, the classes don’t look great, and NFL decision-makers looking for a new signal-caller in 2025 might not be sleeping great right now.
