Isaiah Trufant’s bio

The Jets have elevated cornerback Isaiah Trufant from the practice squad to the regular roster.
Trufant (DB/5-8/170/Eastern Washington/Tacoma, WA) was originally signed to the Jets practice squad (12/08/10) before joining the club’s active roster (12/30/10) and appearing in the regular-season finale against Buffalo. He was waived prior to the AFC Championship Game and claimed by Philadelphia. Released by the Eagles (8/30/11), he signed with the Jets and appeared in the final preseason game this season before joining the Jets practice squad. Before entering the NFL, he played the 2010 season with the UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives, where he was named 2010 UFL Defensive Player of the Year after he led the team with four interceptions. In 2009, Trufant recorded 13 tackles and four passes defensed with the Locos during the regular season and added two tackles in their 2009 UFL Championship Game victory over Florida. He also played in the Arena Football League with the Spokane Shock in 2006, the Kansas City Brigade in 2007 and the Arizona Rattlers from 2007-09. Trufant will wear jersey number 35.
