Jets should not let themselves be taken advantage of

New Jersey – The Jets should look into signing Darrelle Revis.

Why not? They need a corner, he’s the best one available, and they have a lot of cap space.

However, they shouldn’t let themselves be taken advantage of.

What do I mean?

Just because they were a last place team in 2014, and New England won the Super Bowl, doesn’t mean they should have to offer Revis a ton more than the Patriots to get him. Outbid them? Yes. Get gauged? No.

That is bad business.

Make him a great offer, obviously something in the $12-15 million a year range, and let the chips fall where they may.

But don’t let the Revis’ camp use your struggles in recent years against you, and make you overpay. After all, we are talking about a cornerback who will be 30 next season.

Give it your best shot. Make a great offer. If it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. You move on.

Don’t get exploited.
