Mike DeVito on his future Dan Leberfeld
Mike DeVito appeared on SiriusXM NFL Radio this morning with hosts Howard David and Amani Toomer.
He was asked if he’s now a “former” Jet.
“I’m not even sure – we haven’t talked to anybody yet,” DeVito said. “I’m up to go to anybody who wants me to play for them, that is where I want to be.”
Has he thought of a potential landing spot?
“Whatever team wants me that is who I will play for – we haven’t talked to anybody, we can’t talk to anybody,” DeVito said. “I will try to bring to a team what I have tried to do that last six years – to be a great player and great person and a leader and continue to work hard and try to get better – I think I have only scratched the surface of what I can do.”
There is no question the Jets have cap issues, but DeVito is a player that John Idzik should probably try to keep. He brings a lot to the table on and off the field.
And honestly, how expensive could he be?
Perhaps he will take a little bit of discount, since he really wants to stay with the Jets. He loves playing in New York. It’s where most of his family is.
