Mock drafts mean very little, but they are fun to check out.
It’s kind of interesting – the three mock drafts I just checked out – two on NFL Draft Scout (Rob Rang and Dane Brugler), along with ESPN’s Mel Kiper, all have the Jets picking Alabama safety Mark Barron at 16.
Personally, I don’t love picking safeties in the first round, but clearly people think the Jets need to grab a big safety to cover tight ends, and Barron is a large safety with good range.
