NFL.com blogger Chris Wesseling feels the Jets aren’t in the catbird seat in the Darrelle Revis’ trade talks with Tampa Bay.
“Why would the Bucs overpay when (John) Idzik is so clearly backed into a corner without the option of the franchise tag in 2014?,” asked Wesseling.
How is Idzik backed into a corner?
The Jets have a few options here.
They can keep Revis and have perhaps the best NFL cornerback tandem in football this season.
They could wait until the summer, or trading deadline, and deal him then, with the possibility another team suffers an injury to a starting cornerback and is desperate.
Or they could extend him if his camp lowers their demands.
