Returning Jet defender fired up about Rankins, Lawson, Curry Dan Leberfeld

Early in free agency, the Jets made three key additions to their defensive line – defensive ends Carl Lawson (Bengals) and Vinny Curry (Eagles) along with defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins (Saints).

A key returning defensive lineman for the Jets is defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, who is coming off his best season with the team.

Fatukasi is very excited about what Rankins, Lawson and Curry add to the Jets’ defensive line room.

“Having Sheldon, Carl and Vinny are great additions,” Fatukasi said in an exclusive interview with the team’s website. “They are great pieces to have on this defensive line.¬†Sheldon is explosive, strong and (has) quick twitch. Carl, very, very quick-twitchy, great with his hands, explosive get-off. Vinny, his resume speaks for itself – very savvy, knows how to make plays.

“These are guys who are very serious about their work.”

And so is Fatukasi, who was considered one of the hardest workers on the team his first three years with the Jets.

If they can stay healthy, the Jets’ defensive line could be one of the stronger units on the team.
