Revis’ latest on LR issues changes the tune a little bit

Darrelle Revis is sending mixed messages on whether Rex Ryan knew about the Jets locker room issues last year.

At the Pro Bowl, in January, Revis told the league’s TV network, that Rex didn’t find out about the problems until after the season.

“After the season, we talked,” Revis told the NFL Network in Hawaii. “Basically, he didn’t know a lot of things that were going on behind the scenes. He wanted people to say things to him. But obviously it didn’t come out. It came out on the field (late in the season).”

Now Revis is presenting a little different picture.

“Behind closed doors we tried to make it work and fix the problems, but it escalated to something bigger, and sometimes that can happen with teams, and it happened to us last year,” Revis said on ESPN this week.

So if both Revis statements are accurate, then what we glean from them is – Jets players, without the head coach knowing, attempted to fix the problems last year during the season.

That is hard to believe, but we will take Revis at his word.
