“Besides the off-field things and all that kind of stuff that we talk about, our message is that, “This is it.” We’ve accomplished, so far, our objective,” Ryan said. “Our goal for special teams, offense and defense was
clearly stated in our first team meeting together and that’s that we want to lead the league in wins.
“We try to do the professional thing. Just be pros. We have a lot of great people here, but clearly, you make sure that they know that there is Player Protect that is available to them and to take advantage of that. They know that
they represent the Jets on-and-off the field and I think that’s important to these guys. It is something that you remind them of. The number one thing is to be safe. I understand that sometimes you’re 5-1, people know it, and just to be smart out there.”
