Slauson played with torn rotator cuff and labrum

Jets left guard Matt Slauson played the entire 2011 season with a torn rotator cuff and labrum in his left shoulder, according to a report in the Newark Star-Ledger.

He also had an issue with his left biceps.

Slauson had surgery to repair all three injuries right after the 2011 regular season ended.

“I knew something was wrong, but I was like, ‘OK, I’ll keep on playing as long as I can play,’ and I was able to get through it all,” Slauson told Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger. “I felt like I had a fairly successful year personally with it. So I’m really excited about next year without having pain.”

Slauson should be close to 100 percent by August.
