Does Bart Scott want to be traded?
It sounds that way.
Or does he just want a bigger role.
It sounds that way.
Bart Scott lives in his dream home, 15-20 minutes from Jets camp. He loves this area, and plans to live around here for a long time.
He’s guaranteed $4.2 million in 2012.
So why would he want to leave?
Also, it’s highly unlikely another team is going to pay Scott that kind of money at this stage of his career.
The Jets have to.
The man can still play. Is he great in coverage? No.
But a lot of NFL linebackers struggle in this area.
How many linebackers did a good job this year covering tight ends like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham? Not many. It’s a league wide issue.
Scott is still a good run defender, and an underrated blitzer.
He can still help the Jets.
There is a lot of posturing going on right now, but when the dust settles, there is still a good chance Scott is a Jet in 2012.
