There has been a lot of change at 1 Jets Drive over the last few months, including coaching and GM changes, a legendary QB being shown the door and mass employee buyouts.
So there is a lot of uncertainty in Florham Park right now.
The Jets need somebody to lead them out of the desert at this time, and it has to be Aaron Glenn.
He should provide something that’s been lacking in the football operation – high-level accountability and discipline.
Glenn has no issue getting in people’s faces and telling them like it is.
Glenn is the hardass the Jets need at this time in history.
Jets consultant Mike Tannenbaum said in a recent interview that there was more of an emphasis on leadership ability, as opposed to Xs and Os, in the interview process.
Look, none of us know if Glenn will be a successful head coach with the Jets, but if he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be due to him being a beta.
This guy has alpha written all over him.
The definition of “alpha” from Merriam-Webster is “A socially dominant person.”
His approach is just what the Jets need now, especially with so much change happening in such a short period.
