Ball hawk on Jets coaching staff Dan Leberfeld

Jets need more of these, and this guy knows a thing or two about getting them.

The Jets need more picks than the last few seasons.

They have a highly-regarded cornerback coach in Tony Oden, who should help, but don’t there’s also a man assisting him, who has PhD in intercepting that ball, and that’s Jets defensive assistant Ricky Manning Jr.

During his NFL playing days (2003-09), Manning was quite the ball hawk, with 14 interceptions over the first four years of his career, the first three with the Bears, and then with Carolina. Over that time, he also had 32 passes defensed.

And by the way, he also had 13 interceptions at UCLA.

The Jets need more plays on the ball from their corners, so the Fresno-native is a good guy to have on the practice field, working with the young corners, like Jason Pinnock (pictured above), along with Oden.
