Coming out of Penn State, we knew Jets 2024 first-round pick, offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, was a good pass blocker.
According to the school, Fashanu did not allow a sack his last two years at Penn State.
But his run blocking isn’t bad either, and aside from providing very good pass protection in the Jets’ win over Jacksonville on Sunday, he might have had the best run block of the day as well.
Early in the third quarter, Jets running back Breece Hall had an 18-yard run to the left side. On the play, Fashanu had a great block on Jaguars’ star defensive end Josh Hines-Allen to open a big hole.
With Fashanu, it looks like the Jets could be in good shape for many years to come at the all-important left tackle position.
Not only does he have a lot of natural ability, but he’s a hard worker, highly intelligent and very coachable.
