This makes Joe’s strategy look pretty smart Dan Leberfeld

Some were wondering why Joe Douglas added so many players here, but it’s already looking like a good decision.

The Jets were very active this off-season adding offensive linemen.

They signed Morgan Moses, even though they had Mekhi Becton and George Fant at offensive tackle, and also added a bunch of interior players like Dan Feeney, Corey Levin and brought back Alex Lewis on a reworked contract.

And early in Jets camp, having a crowded offensive line room has come in handy, with three player already on the injured list – guards Alijah Vera-Tucker (pectoral muscle) and Cam Clark (back), along with offensive tackle Chuma Edoga (knee).

We all saw last season what happened to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, due to myriad offensive line injuries. It’s probably the biggest reason they lost to Tampa Bay – a lack of quality offensive line depth.

So Douglas going on a shopping spree for offensive line talent this off-season is coming in handy already.
