In the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft, the New York Jets selected Virginia OT Oday Aboushi, a Staten Island-native.
While he played left tackle in college, he’s a better fit for the right side in the NFL.
He will compete with Austin Howard and D.J. Young for the Jets’ right tackle job.
While Howard did some good things in the running game last year, he needs to improve his pass protection.
Aboushi is a good value pick in the fifth round.
He easily could have been picked in the third.
