Tough injuries for these two longshots

Cortland – Safety Brandon Hardin sat out the Jets’ morning practice with some kind of left leg injury.

Cornerback Johnny Patrick pulled a hamstring early in today’s practice.

Both are long shots, and not anointed players, so if they don’t get back quickly, they could be sent packing with injury settlements.

Hardin is the last guy who can afford an injury, after missing his first two years in the NFL while with the Chicago Bears, and getting labeled, “injury prone.”

After getting cut by by the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers, this could be Patrick’s last chance to hook on with a team, so he needs to be out there.

And he knows it.

When he pulled up lame with the hamstring injury, he tossed his helmet in frustration.
