Bart Scott made a lot of good points during his Showtime interview, but something he said about Manish Mehta’s anonymous sources, can be challenged.
“I always thought that that anonymous source was a figment of his imagination,” Scott said on Showtime.
WFAN’s Mike Francesa would disagree.
“Everyone knows how close [Mehta] is to [Mike Pettine],” Francesa said last month. “I have had people in the Jets organization tell me they know it’s [Pettine]. Give this kid credit – he got people to talk and give him stuff.
“[Mehta] kind of tipped his hand – when he went with that exclusive that the defensive coordinator turned down an extension four months ago, that wouldn’t aid anybody but [Pettine]. It is no secret that is one of [Mehta’s] sources.”
