Westhoff on Edwards running into kicker

Mike Westhoff on Braylon Edward near field goal block and running into kicker penalty against Baltimore – “I’d bet my boat we were going to block it. He’s tremendous at it. He wants to do it. In 1983, they put a rule in that you can’t run at the line of scrimmage and jump over. You need to be within two yards of the line of scrimmage. If you land an anyone, it’s a penalty. You can’t use leverage. You can take a stop jump over the line and land. Not a lot of guys can do that. Braylon jumps like an NBA basketball player. The ball missed his hand by an inch. The kicker tripped on his hand. He didn’t run into him. He was on the ground. He never touched him. I will call it again 100 times.”
