Why the Jets lost the game?

It was a preseason game, so it really doesn’t matter.
But is pretty simple why the Jets lost to the Giants in the preseason opener for both teams.
First off, why didn’t Mike Tannenbaum sign Victor Cruz out of his (and my) alma mater – UMass?
Seriously, there are two big reasons for the loss.
When the Jets put their second team defense in the game, they continued to dial up crazy blitzes and left backup corners on an island. There were blown coverages galore. Some of these DB’s are ill-equiped to hold up in zero coverage. Also, some barely know the system.
Secondly, if you offensive game-plan in the second half is to pound undersized Joe McKnight between tackles, what are you going to accomplish?
But who really cares?
It’s the preseason.
And most importantly for the Jets, their first-teamers played well, accept for a few hiccups.
